Introduction
Let’s meet up in a workshop in my studio!! This exciting two-day landscape workshop focuses on developing your personal painting language. Translating what we see and feel into abstract and gestural expressions that are both personal and expressive. Learn how to add drama, movement and a fresh perspective to your landscapes.
Professional artist Marie Louise, a.k.a. The Danish Painter will help participants explore the use of color, tonal contrast, gestural and dynamic mark-making, working with wet and dry materials and building up a series of related works of different sizes.
Weather permitting, we will take short walks into the rural landscape surrounding The Danish Painter Studio. Workshop participants will learn how to observe and make studies outdoors on location. These studies will help inform the creation of paintings in the studio using acrylics and mixed media which can include a wide variety of contrasting layered materials such as inks, paints, pastels and collage papers.
A unique and personal journey into responding to the energy, color and dynamic compositions found in nature.
Spaces are limited to five painters which will give Marie Louise lots of dedicated time for each individual participant. A unique opportunity to go deep and get one-on-one time with Marie Louise.
Let her gentle teaching style guide you and help you with your specific needs and interests. Enjoy learning in a relaxed and supportive environment.
During the course we will focus on learning to let go of our old routines and trying something new in our painting. We’ll do the different assignments together, step-by-step so everyone from all skill levels can follow along.
